A little about the folks behind Rebel Child....

I'm just an Oklahoma girl living in a Texas world. I like to say that my parents dragged me kicking and screaming across Red River when I was 12 and I still have red mud coursing through my veins. To say I'm a proud Okie is an understatement. Not that I don't love Texas, too. This is where I met the love of my life almost 30 years ago. I guess you could say it hasn't been all bad.
It's been a dream of mine to open my own shop since my teens. My mom and I often talked about opening a fabric store. We both sewed. A lot. Then we talked about a craft store. And a scrapbooking store. We had big dreams but it seemed the timing was never right. My mom passed away a few years ago so she won't get to see the dream finally come to life but I'm sure she's with us in spirit.
Rebel Child started as a hobby and grew from there. My husband, also known as the love of life, actually thought of the name. My dad, a preacher, who passed away shortly after my mom, always said that, of his two children, I was his rebel child. That, and my love for the music of the late, great Toby Keith, and a line from one of his songs, gave life to my dream. (In case you're wondering the line is "she's a rebel child and a preacher's daughter." Yep, that's me.)
That's just a peek into my world. Take a look around and message me with any questions. Just a note...I do work a full time job so messages may not be answered until after 5 pm, central time but I promise I will never ignore you!!
